You’re buying a house with home security components
A new house may come with an existing security system. All the devices function well, are installed in the correct areas, and are ready to go. In this instance, just pick up the phone to call and establish a new monitoring contract. A Vivint installer will still show up to ensure there are no integration problems, and they might offer ideas on where you should replace bad outdated components. It's a fast appointment, and you can get your 24/7 monitoring set up without paying for any new devices -- unless you add on.
The previous homeowners can move an existing Vivint contract to you for a nominal set-up cost to make the transfer a snap. If the outgoing residents are downsizing to an apartment complex or retirement community, turning over the home security service might be an addendum of the sale.
You want to move and take your old devices with you
You might need to bring your favorite smart devices with you to your new house when you move. It should be fairly simple to do, as modern components are wireless. You can take down each device by yourself or contact a professional expert to come and take care of the system. Then our installers will set up the same components -- and any smart devices you want to add -- in your new place. Your home security contract will stay the same.
